Why do you need to watch A Man in Full ?
First, I was attracted by a familiar face : Jeff Daniels. I did not watch anything with him in a long time, either on TV or in theatres. Jeff Daniels was truly amazing in the Newsroom, I am sure you remember that passionate fierce journalist who broke into a rant when he was asked why America was the greatest country in the word, explaining why it was not the greatest country in the world but could be, provided it changed a few things!
Of course, I wanted that fantastic actor to have more screen time.
So I did not think twice and launched the first episode of the series that you can find on Netflix. Also, it’s what we call a mini-series, meaning you can enjoy the whole thing without sacrificing all your evenings in the next six months.
Jeff Daniels is the central character, the elephant in the room, as he portrays himself in one of the last episodes. He carries the plot, the grandeur and weakness of a self-made man, such a standard American hero. To make it short, David E. Kelley, talented and succesful showrunner who gave us The Practice and Ally McBeal of course. A fine observer of the lives and characters within a law firm. This time though Kelley, decided to adapt Tom Wolfe’s A Man in Full released in 1998 to offer a fine landscape of the South of the US…
